Welcome Students and Parents! Here follows the contents of my art teachings...
My name is Mary Owens and I am in my 7th year as an art teacher. A Washington, D.C. native, I have lived and made art in
Baltimore City since 1987. I have been teaching Art 1 classes at Bladensburg High School for 4 years, and I believe that
my students need to experience the world of art, as well as the skills and techniques to create their own works. My students
are asked to search and inquire about the cultural domain in order to gain an understanding of art as a human expression of
broad and profound meaning.
